Choosing The Right Trainer

It seems like every day there are more and more people offering Staging and Redesign Training. But how do you know what their credentials are? Just because they have a nice website and attractive business card doesn't mean that they have the practical experience or even necessary education to train others.

When you are looking for a course that offers credible training, there are a few questions to keep in mind:

How long has the instructor been training? How many students have they trained?

Do they have references that you can check?

Are they a certified trainer with an industry organization such as The Society of Deocorating Professionals?

What is their student to instructor ratio?

What affiliations and memberships do they hold?

Do they offer ongoing mentoring and continuing educational opportunities for their alumni?

What other benefits do they offer from their training course?

What makes them different from other training facilities?

It is important that you interview your prospective trainer and essential that you feel comfortable with the answers that they provide to you. You can find a list of certified trainers in Interior Redesign, Home Staging and Decorating at www.thesdp.com.
